Event encourages a love of reading

“Martha,” the PBS star of “Martha Speaks,” which is telecast weekdays on WTIU, Channel 30, appeared Wednesday at the “Bring Your Own Book and Read!” lunchtime reading session at the courthouse in downtown Bloomington.
The event encouraging kids and adults to read was organized by the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, the Monroe County Public Library and the Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools. The groups plan to continue the event monthly.
